Hey All, As we approach the release of our debut album, we really want to keep well involved with you guys, so we've set up 'Parachutes and Flying Machines', our official blog. We'll be using it to keep you upto date with all the latest goings on, live dates and releases, and any exciting news that comes our way. As well as that we'll be posting exclusive video footage of live performances from 'The Living Room' (our home), acoustic tracks and much much more. The page will also have links on how to be involved with us on every possible level, from following us on twitter, listening to us on myspace, watching us on youtube or joining us on facebook. We've kicked things off by uploading some of the great photos you guys have sent us from various shows and tours, so check them out and keep 'em coming to info@pregomusic.com Finally, we're all very excited about the response from those who have had a sneak preview listen to the album. Nathan Connolly from Snow Patrol said the "record really is great, one of those records that breaks your heart and has swagger at the same time. Inspiring, beautiful and with attitude, that's really rare." Keep listening guys, Prego Posted on 01 Mar 2010 by prego
Track of the Year BBC Introducing/Best of the Sessions BBC 6Music/Album
Happy New Year All! Well what a year 2009 was! It began with us being named as Lamacq's new favourite band; our single 'The Longest Calm' was released on NME writer Mark Beaumont's new label Year Zero Recordings, which was set up specifically for our release and our release only; we've enjoyed a couple of amazing UK tours which included a sell out date at Shepherd's Bush Empire, and shared stages with many incredible bands. To top it all off we enjoyed the biggest privilege of our careers so far, recording our debut album with the legendary and quite brilliant Guy Massey, which we're all so proud of. Thankfully the year has ended as well as it begun with 'The Longest Calm' being named at no.4 in the best tracks of 2009 on BBC Introducing in Suffolk, and if that's not enough our live performance of that track was included in Tom Robinson's 'Best of the Sessions' for 2009 on his BBC6 Music show. It really has been the most enjoyable of years for us, and we've got you guys to thank for keeping us going, turning up to our shows, and keeping the faith. So onto 2010, which feels so exciting, as we'll be releasing our debut album, playing many more shows and hopefully seeing a lot of your faces around the place. For an album taster, we've posted a video diary documenting some of our time in the studio, so go check it out. Anyway, we'll be keeping you in touch with dates and everything that's going on, but here's to a great year! Nice one, Prego Posted on 05 Jan 2010 by prego

As some of you may know, Simon, Caspar and Edd are all from around Ipswich, so we're really pleased to have been asked to headline a local Battle of the Bands competition at the Ipswich Regent on Saturday 14th November. The gig will showcase some local talent and has been organised by the excellent lovemusic24.co.uk which promotes live music in the East of England. We'll be headlining the show, which will also involve 5 local bands (This Boy Wonders, Playing With Fire, Fagan, Echoes Fall, and This Sudden Injury) battling it out for local supremacy. You can buy tickets for the show at http://www.wegottickets.com/event/61555?user=tickets, so do it now! That's all for now, see you soon! Prego Posted on 05 Nov 2009 by prego

NME WRITER SETS UP LABEL FOR NEW PREGO SINGLE!
Hey Guys, We're really pleased to announce that we are releasing our new download-only single ‘The Longest Calm’ on 13th April 2009 on Year Zero recordings, a label set up by NME scribe Mark Beaumont to release this one song only. Says Mark of the venture: “After thirteen years of watching new bands, eventually one forces you to put your money where your mouth is. Prego were the loudest, most brilliantly concocted cross between My Bloody Valentine's cosmic scree, Elbow's elegant drone and Coldplay's Big Music chart-friendliness I could have ever imagined, and the first band I've ever seen knowing that I'd be a fool not to help put out records. I have no major label backing, no money for a full album campaign and not much interest in running a record label at all to be honest, so Year Zero Recordings - named after the club night I saw them play at - has been founded and is planned to exist solely for this one single release, and then be retired. Because sometimes, well, you've just got to, haven't you?“ Check out this week's NME, out today, to find out more about Mark's endeavours setting up a label and the full story on how our path's crossed one winter's evening in Camden! We have shows with the Red Light Company and Boxer Rebellion coming up soon: February 20th Norwich Arts Centre, headline To follow the progress of the label, give Mark some advice, kind words, love for his Prego support, then go to www.myspace.com/yearzeroclub Both the track and video will be available to hear and see very soon on our Myspace page, so do keep checking back, Cheers y'all Prego Posted on 18 Feb 2009 by prego

Hello All, We’re pleased to see ourselves in NME’s Buzz section this week, Mark Beaumont has said some very kind words about us, so do go and get yourselves a copy. You can see the article here So, I know we’ve been quiet lately but we’ve been really busy getting our new guitarist, Brick bedded into his new home. For those who don’t know, Brick (Simon) joined the band at the turn of the year, and it’s been amazing having him involved, he’s added a great deal to us. We want to say a public thank you to Christian for the fantastic two years he put into the band, and all that he added. We’ve also just come away from Modern World Studios in the West country where we’ve been doing some recording with the wonderful Guy Massey. The recording is sounding awesome and we’ll have it mixed within the next few weeks, so look forward to hearing it on myspace when it’s done! We’ve got a couple of gigs coming up in April and May (check the gigs section for details), so do come along and support, we’re playing with some great bands, and we’re all really excited about getting out and gigging again! Nice one, Prego Posted on 19 Mar 2008 by prego

The Vatican Sessions
Hey Guys, For a limited time only we will be making 'The Vatican Sessions' available to download on myspace. With the recording of our debut album approaching, we thought we'd share some of our precious, mostly never heard before early versions of some of our tunes, we've named this collection of recordings 'The Vatican Sessions'. There are no plans to release these versions of the songs, so they will be exclusive to this limited period. We will be rotating a number of tracks over the coming weeks, so collect them while they're available. We hope you enjoy, Prego Posted on 17 Oct 2007 by prego

Hey All,
We thought it was about time for an update! First of all thanks very much to all those who came to check us out at both the Wireless Festival and the Badge of Friendship Festival, we had a great time at both, some photos of Wireless can be found on our myspace page, it was an amazing weekend. We've been burrowed away the last couple of months writing and recording a bunch of new tracks that we've almost finished and are sounding great, we're looking forward to playing them live. The video for 'Cause and Resolve' is finished and looking incredible, we owe so much to Grant Berry who has put so much time and effort into making it look as amazing as it does, and we're currently sorting out the release schedule for it. Come along and catch us live at the Proud Galleries on August 26th, it's a free all dayer and should be a great event, it will be our first show in a little while so come down and check it out. We hope all are well, Onwards and upwards Posted on 02 Aug 2007 by prego
